Bruce V. Lepore
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I live in Bend, Oregon, and am the primary attorney serving our Central Oregon clients. If you are reading this page, I assume you are interested to find out a little bit more about me or the services I provide. My work as an attorney is my third profession. I have always been eager to try and learn new things, so I entered law school when I was 42 years old. I began working here at Harker Lepore part time in January of 2016. I stayed involved with the business while attending Lewis and Clark Law School, and have now come back full time. I earned my J.D. summa cum laude in January of 2019 and passed the Oregon Bar Exam in February of the same year.
Prior to embarking on a legal career, I worked as a manager of community associations at Fieldstone Management in Bend, Oregon. While at Fieldstone I held the the CMCA certification and Oregon Property Manager’s license. I managed several homeowner and condominium associations, performing the full range of management tasks including record keeping, inspections, advising boards of directors, enforcement, architectural review, and the various other services that managers provide. I developed a reputation among my clients for having a detailed understanding of the laws governing community associations and a keen mind for solving the complex issues that associations face. At that time, I met Kevin Harker through a mutual client and immediately felt that he was someone I could work well with. To me, Kevin had a refreshingly pragmatic and down to earth approach and an uncommon appreciation of the service-oriented nature of the legal profession. Because of the respect I had for him, I was convinced that embarking on a new career later in life was a risk worth taking.
Prior to moving to Oregon, I enjoyed my first successful career as an executive search and selection consultant in Tokyo, Japan. I began working at Hudson Global Resources in 2004 and quickly established myself as an expert in financial technology related hires. My clients included global financial services companies like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of America. In 2007 I co-founded the Tokyo branch of a leading Australian Executive Search firm. My partners and I successfully navigated the global recession which devastated the recruitment industry in general. During five years between 2007 and 2012 we grew our office to a peak of 30 staff and $6 million in annual revenue. In 2011 I successfully negotiated an equity buyout, after which I served as General Manager of the office until my relocation to the U.S. in 2013.
In addition to my business experience and my legal education, the main things I’d like you to know about me are that I am hard-working, diligent, reliable, and smart. The law is complicated, and there are no perfect lawyers. Asserting one’s rights can be an expensive proposition. My hope is that our clients believe we have provided them with assistance worth more than the costs. I hope you will give us the opportunity to do so for you.
