Hawthorn Farm Village Candidate Bios - 2025

Candidate Statements

-------------------------------------------------------

Linda Slechta: I have lived in the neighborhood since 2013. You might have seen me walking around with my little yorkie mix dog that thinks he is a rottweiler, if you live on the east side and its not raining. I have nine grandchildren and now two great granddaughters. They are such a joy! There are not many crafts that I have not tried or thought about trying so that keeps me busy.

I have been retired for 6 years now and enjoy it very much. I worked in the tech world for over 30 years, eighteen of which was at our neighbor Intel, as an engineering manager. To that have extent I have good leadership skills and am a great listener. I am competent at all the necessary computer skills. I strive to be someone that everyone can talk to and enjoy being around. I have been on the ARC committee for the last 3 years and plan to continue my involvement in the ARC. I have also filled in a partial year on the board when people left. I really enjoy working with everyone to keep our community a wonderful place to live.

Sean Campbell:  Served on the board for one year. Current secretary of the board.

Susan Buxton:  I have lived in the neighborhood for almost 20 years. I have been on the board before and enjoy meeting neighbors. I am running to help keep our neighborhood a happy, safe place to live.

Janey Baker:  I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. My husband and I have lived in our neighborhood for 24 years. I enjoy playing Pickleball, playing Sudoku, and hiking.

I have a BA degree in management, 30 years of school business experience and five years of banking experience.

In October 2024, I was asked to fill in as the HFVOA treasurer and have spent considerable time learning about the role of the HFVOA treasurer. I have decided to run for the Board to continue in that role and help the Board be good stewards of our community’s resources.
